Jessica Hoffmann's First Place Finish Leads Women's XC to Team Title at Aubrey Shenk Invitational

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Graduate student Jessica Hoffmann (Millington, N.J./Watchung Hills) captured the individual title for the third time this season and The University of Scranton women's cross country team also won the team title at Saturday's Aubrey Shenk Invitational that was hosted by Gettysburg College.

The Royals captured the team title against the 19 team field with 68 points as three runners registered Top 15 finishes.

Here are some of the Royals' highlights from Saturday's meet.

  • Hoffmann completed the 6,000 meter course in 22:00.0, while younger sister and sophomore Samantha Hoffmann (Millington, N.J./Watchung Hills) finished in 13th place with a time of 23:26.3
  • Freshman Emily Hopkins (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) posted a 15th place finish for the Royals in a time of 23:36.1.
  • Rounding out the top five was junior Olivia Tullman (Chester Springs, Pa./The Hill School) in 21st place at 23:47.6 and senior Molly Neeson (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) in 22nd place at 23:51.5.

The Royals will return to the course on Saturday, Oct. 29 for the Landmark Conference Championships that will be hosted by Goucher College.
