Senior Noelle Gonzalez (Harrington Park, N.J./Northern Valley-Old Tappan) of The University of Scranton women's track & field team broke two program records at Saturday's Moravian Indoor Meet and has been named Scranton Athlete of the Week for the period ending Jan. 22, 2023.

This marks the first time in Gonzalez's career that she has received Scranton Athlete of the Week honors.

She won the 200 meters with a program record time of 26.74 seconds, surpassing her previous indoor program record of 27.17 that had been set on Feb. 26, 2022. Gonzalez also finished third in the 400 meters with a new program best time of 1:00.89, nearly a second better than the old record of 1:01.97 that had been recorded on Feb. 29, 2020.

Gonzalez's 400 time is the fastest in the Landmark Conference this season and her 200 time is the third best in the conference thus far. Both times are also ranked among the top five in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

In three meets thus far, the Harrington Park, N.J., native has posted four top-three finishes.

Scranton is back in action on Saturday at the Conference Challenge Cup that will be hosted by Nazareth College beginning at 10 a.m.
