GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's swimming and diving team sits in fifth place after Day One of the Gettysburg Invitational on Friday.
The Royals sit fifth with 91.5 points as the host Bullets lead the team standings with 307.5 points and Swarthmore is second with 258.
Here are some of Scranton's highlights from Friday's action.
- Senior Kylie Kramer (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward Melville) swam a personal-best time of 2:17.60 in the 200 IM and was the top finisher for the Royals, just seconds ahead of junior Kayleigh Olszewski (Conshohocken, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame de Namur) who touched the wall in 2:17.73.
- The Royals also added a sixth place finish in the 200 free relay as senior Danielle Pikulik (Smithtown, N.Y./St. Anthony's), junior Giavanna Baquerizo (Maywood, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy), freshman Emily Carr (Tuckahoe, N.Y./The Ursuline School) and junior Marina Nunziato (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) recorded a time of 1:40.60.
- In the 400 medley relay, junior Alyssa Benzija (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon), Pikulik, junior Michelle Kong (Edison, N.J./John P. Stevens) and Kramer recorded a seventh place finish with a time of 4:05.11.
Action on Day Two of the Gettysburg Invitational will get underway at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
