MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The University of Scranton women's golf team rolled to a first-place finish at the Drew Invitational on Monday, as the Royals posted a team score of 354 in windy conditions at the par 72 Spring Brook Country Club.
Leading the Royals on the afternoon was sophomore Katie Pagano (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa), who carded an 87 to finish second overall in the event on the individual leaderboard.
A pair of freshman, Madalyne Buhler (Stony Point, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) and Victoria Dowling (East Northport, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy Academy), and junior Molly Lennon (Melville, N.Y./Hal Hollow Hills East) all posted rounds of 89 to finish in a long tie for third. Junior Abigail Allen (New Milford, Conn./Immaculate H.S.) rounded out the top scores with a 101 to place ninth overall.
The University of Scranton women's golf team returns to action on Friday, as they travel to Selinsgrove to take on Susquehanna at Susquehanna Valley Country Club. The event begins at 1 p.m.
