Men's Swimming Falls in Season Opener to Arcadia, 143-119

SCRANTON, PA (October 15, 2022) -- The University of Scranton men's swimming team dropped its season opener to Arcadia 143-119 this afternoon at the Byron Recreation Complex. 

The Royals started off the day well with a win in the 200 medley relay at 1:38.42. Graduate student Evan Morgan (Hillsborough, N.J. / Hillsborough) won the 200 free with a time of 1:51.88. 

Freshman James O'Malley (Maple Glen, Pa. / LaSalle College) showed well in his first competition for Scranton with a first place finish in the 200 fly at 2:04.21. In the 50 free senior Michael Krumenacker (Ambler, Pa. / St. Joseph's Prep) took first with a swim of 22.28. 

O'Malley captured his second win of the day in the 500 free where he clocked in at 5:05.93 to secure nine points for the Royals. Krumenacker notched his second win of the meet with a first place finish in the 100 fly at 53.29. 

Scranton finished off the day with a win in the 200 free relay at 1:29.64.

The men's swimming team returns to action next Saturday with a meet at Marywood at 1:00 PM.
