BETHLEHEM, PA (October 15, 2022) -- The University of Scranton men's soccer team battled Moravian University to a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon at John Makuvek Field.

With the result the Royals move to 7-5-2 on the season and 1-2-1 in Landmark Conference play.

Junior Dylan Estevez (Garnerville, N.Y. / Don Bosco Prep) got off the first shot of the game in third minute but saw his effort saved by Moravian's goalkeeper Andrew Remias. Senior goalkeeper Aidan Hartey (Elkins Park, Pa. / St. Joseph's Prep) made his first save of the game in the 31st minute when he stopped a shot from Dan Ingersoll of the Greyhounds.

The Royals outshot Moravian 7-4 in the opening half but the game remained scoreless headed into the break.

Scranton won a cornerkick less than ten minutes into the second half and took advantage of the opportunity as Estevez delivered a cross that found the head of sophomore Ciaran Corr (Newtown Square, Pa. / Marple Newtown) and finished in the back of the net to give the Royals a 1-0 lead. The goal marked Corr's ninth of the season.

Moravian wasted no time finding an answer as they leveled the game at 1-1 less than a minute later as Carson Snyder scored off an assist from Hunter Shay and Ben Scary in the 56th minute.

Both sides searched for an equalizer in the late stages of the second half but were unable to convert and the game finished in a 1-1 tie. Scranton held a 15-10 advantage in shots. Hartey finished the game with three saves for the Royals.

The men's soccer team will be back in action on Wednesday when they host Drew University at Weiss Field at 7:00 PM.
