LA PLUME, PA (October 4, 2022) -- The University of Scranton men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Keystone College on Tuesday evening as an early second half goal proved the difference for the Giants.

With the result the Royals move to 7-3-1 on the season as they prepare to head back into conference play this weekend.

Scranton had a pair of early chances in the 14th minute as junior Dylan Estevez (Garnerville, N.Y. / Don Bosco Prep) and sophomore Ciaran Corr (Newtown Square, Pa. / Marple Newtown) each fired off shots but saw their efforts saved by Keystone's goalkeeeper Erick Gomez.

The Royals continued to apply pressure, outshooting the Giants 14-4 in the opening half, but were unable to break the deadlock as the game remained scoreless headed into halftime.

Keystone found the only goal of the game in the 55th minute as CJ Lambert was able to beat out Scranton's senior goalkeeper Aidan Hartey (Elkins Park, Pa. / St. Joseph's Prep) to give the Giants a 1-0 lead.

Scranton pushed hard to find an equalizer, sending several shots at goal late in the second half, but were unable to convert on any of their chances as Keystone went on to win 1-0.

The Royals saw a lot of possession and outshot the Giants 24-7 in the contest. Hartey finished the game with two saves while four different Royals tied for a game-high three shots.

The men's soccer team returns to Landmark Conference action on Saturday when they host Elizabethtown in the first game of a doubleheader at Weiss Field at 1:00 PM.
