Men's Golf Holds Two Stroke Lead After the Opening Round at the Landmark Fall Preview

SELINSGROVE, PA (October 21, 2022) -- The University of Scranton men's golf team shot a 308 and currently holds a two stroke lead over Moravian (310) at the Landmark Conference Fall Preview hosted by Susquehanna University at Susquehanna Valley Country Club.

Rounding out the top three on the day was Goucher who recorded a 312.

Sophomore Liam Burtis (Binghamton, N.Y. / Seton Catholic Central) posted his best round of the season with a 73 (+3) to lead the Royals and finish in a tie for second on the day, trailing the leader by just one stroke.

Senior Ethan Zawatski (Dallas, Pa. / Dallas) fired off a 76 (+6) which landed him in a tie for fifth while fellow senior Matthew Fleming sits in a tie for tenth after shooting a 78 (+8) on the day.

Freshman Jack Novis (Lancaster, Pa. / Lancaster Catholic) carded an 81 (+11) while sophomore Danny Harding (Vestal, N.Y. / Vestal) rounded out the lineup for Scranton with an 84 (+14).

The action resumes at Susquehanna Valley Country Club tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM.
