MOOSIC, Pa. – Senior Ethan Zawatski (Dallas, Pa./Dallas) earned medalist honors to lead The University of Scranton men's golf team to a second place finish at the Biondi Memorial Invitational that was held this weekend at Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic.
Following a 72 on Saturday, Zawatski carded a 73 (+2) on Sunday to finish in first place with a 145 (+3) over the two day meet.
The Royals finished second in the team standings with a 599 (+31), just one stroke shy of Franklin & Marshall who won the team title with a 598 (+30).
Freshman Jack Novis (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) finished in a tie for fourth as he shot a season-best 72 (+1) on Sunday and finished the weekend with a 150 (+8), while sophomore Liam Burtis (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic Central) finished tied for eighth with a 79 (+8) on Sunday and a 154 (+12) overall.
Rounding things out for the Royals was senior Matthew Fleming (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South) in 10th place with a 155 (+13) after shooting a 73 (+2) on Sunday and sophomore Danny Harding (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) in 11th place with a 156 (+14) after carding a 79 (+8) in round two.
Scranton returns to the course on Friday for Day One of the Landmark Conference Fall Preview that will be hosted by Susquehanna University.
