Novis Leads Men's Golf to Third Place Finish at Husky Invitational

DANVILLE, Pa. – The University of Scranton men's golf team finished in third place, highest among Division III competitors, on Monday afternoon at the Husky Invitational that was hosted by Bloomsburg University at Frosty Valley Country Club in Danville.

The Royals tallied a team score of 311, behind just a pair of Division II teams in Goldey-Beacom (300) and the host Huskies (301).

Freshman Jack Novis (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) led the way for Scranton as he finished in a tie for fifth with a 75 (+3) and sophomore Danny Harding (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) carded a 77 (+5). Elsewhere for the Royals, senior Matthew Fleming (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South) shot a 79 (+7) and classmate Ethan Zawatski (Dallas, Pa./Dallas) finished one stroke behind Fleming with an 80 (+8).

Rounding things out for the Royals was sophomore Liam Burtis (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic Central) with a 90 (+18).

Scranton will host the Biondi Memorial Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at Glenmaura National Golf Club.
