The two-time defending Landmark Conference Champions, University of Scranton field hockey team, has announced the program's 2022 schedule with the regular season set to begin on Sept. 1.

Coming off a second straight Landmark title and an NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 appearance, the Royals host Muhlenberg to open the 2022 campaign on Sept. 1 at Weiss Field at 7 p.m.

Led by head coach Colleen Moyer, Scranton is slated to play a full slate of 17 games this fall including eight home contests.

The Royals will play four of their first six games on the road this fall with home games during that stretch against Muhlenberg and Arcadia (Sept. 10).

Landmark Conference play begins on Sept. 24 as Scranton returns home to host Catholic in a Landmark Championship game rematch at Weiss Field. That is followed by a non-conference battle against Ithaca four days later as the Bombers come to town on Sept. 28 for the first meeting between the programs since 2007.

The Royals begin October with three of four Landmark contests on the road against Goucher (Oct. 1), Elizabethtown (Oct. 8) and Drew (Oct. 12). Later in the month, Scranton will play three straight at home including key conference matchups versus Moravian (Oct. 15) and Susquehanna (Oct. 22) as well as a non-conference home contest with Albright (Oct. 18).

The regular season concludes in the final week of October with road trips to Vassar (Oct. 26) and Juniata (Oct. 29). Last season, Scranton picked up a 1-0 victory over then-No. 18 Vassar as both teams eventually qualified for the NCAA Tournament.
