Junior Jill Henson (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) of The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team matched her career-high with six goals in a win over Misericordia last week and has been named Scranton Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Mar. 15 on Monday morning.
Henson tallied six goals in a 14-7 win over Misericordia on Wednesday as the Royals raced out to a 10-3 halftime lead en route to the win.
This marks the second time this season and third time in her career that Henson has scored six goals in a game after she did so in a 20-10 win over Farmingdale State on Mar. 4. The junior surpassed 100 career goals earlier this season and has scored 24 goals through the first six games.
A two-time All-Landmark Conference honoree, this is the second time in her career that Henson has been named Scranton Athlete of the Week.
