Berry Named Second-Team All-American By D3Soccer
Colleen Berry

Junior goalkeeper Colleen Berry (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) had an outstanding season in net for The University of Scranton women's soccer team. Now, she has been chosen as one of the top players in the nation by D3soccer.com.

Berry was named second-team All-American by the website on Tuesday, becoming the first player in program history to earn All-American honors from D3soccer since it began naming an All-American team in 2010.

A first-team all-Landmark Conference selection, Berry took over the starting goalkeeper duties in the preseason and posted 13 shutouts and a .887 save percentage, which led the Landmark Conference and ranked 13th in the nation. She had a 0.672 goals-against average and had a scoreless streak of 450 minutes at one point in the middle of the season. She finished with a record of 15-4-2 and made 110 saves.

Berry's play helped the Royals win the Landmark Conference title for the second straight season and advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. She made 12 saves in a 2-0 first-round win over 25th-ranked Rowan and had nine more in a 1-0 loss to #10 Messiah in the second round.
