  • Russo, Calabro, and Gallo Selected to IWLCA All-Boardwalk Region Team

    The University of Scranton women’s lacrosse team was well-represented on the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Boardwalk Region Team which was released on Thursday afternoon.  Sophomores Becca Russo (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor) and Kate Calabro (Seaford, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) were named First Team All-Region while junior Elena Gallo (East Meadow, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) garnered Second Team All-Region honors.
  • Women’s Lacrosse To Hold ID Clinics on July 28 & 29

    The University of Scranton women’s lacrosse team will hold a pair of one day ID clinics on Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 29 at Weiss Field at the Quinn Athletics Campus.  The clinics are open to female lacrosse players in grades 9-12 with playing experience who are interesting in playing collegiate lacrosse.

    WASHINGTON, D.C. – Top-seed and 15th ranked Catholic won its fifth straight Landmark Conference championship on Saturday with an 18-10 victory over The University of Scranton. The Cardinals (13-7) earn an automatic bid the NCAA Tournament while the second-seeded Royals (12-7) close out another strong season with a conference runner-up finish after falling to Catholic in the conference title game for the third year in a row.

    Saturday’s Landmark Conference women’s lacrosse championship game will have a familiar look to it as The University of Scranton travels to Catholic for the third season in a row to determine the conference title. The Royals are seeking for a different outcome when the teams take the field at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in Washington, D.C. as the top-seeded and 15th ranked Cardinals have defeated Scranton in the last two championship games.
  • Calabro Named Rookie of the Year, Wilson Tabbed Coach of the Year, to Highlight Eight Year-End Awards for Women’s Lacrosse

    The University of Scranton was well-represented on the Landmark Conference’s women’s lacrosse year-end awards which were released by the conference office on Thursday afternoon. Kate Calabro (Seaford, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) was named the league’s Rookie of the Year, head coach Cindy Wilson was chosen as the conference’s Coach of the Year, and six players earned All-Conference recognition.

    The University of Scranton women’s lacrosse team closed the regular season with a dominant performance on Saturday, shutting out visiting Juniata in a 20-0 victory at Fitzpatrick Field as the Royals celebrated their Senior Day in style. Scranton, now 11-6 this spring, finishes with a program-best 6-1 mark in Landmark Conference play.

    Shannon Warburton (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) scored a career-high six goals while Christine Olert (Katonah, N.Y./Somers) registered the 100th point of her career on Tuesday night to highlight a dominant performance by The University of Scranton women’s lacrosse team as the Royals defeated Cabrini 18-9 at Fitzpatrick Field.

    SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team secured the #2 seed in the upcoming Landmark Conference playoffs with a 16-9 victory at Susquehanna on Saturday afternoon. The Royals (9-6, 5-1 Landmark) will host a semifinal playoff game on Wednesday, May 2 defeating the River Hawks (4-7, 2-4 Landmark).

    The University of Scranton women’s lacrosse team is headed to the Landmark Conference playoffs for the eighth straight year after defeating Drew 17-7 on Wednesday afternoon at Wednesday at Fitzpatrick Field. The Royals scored seven of the game’s final nine goals to pull away from the Rangers while lifting their record to 8-6 (4-1 Landmark) on the season.

Shannon Warburton (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) added a career-best five goals for the Royals, who improve to 7-6 (3-1 Landmark) on the season with the win.

The Royals (4-3) built an 8-0 halftime lead in their final tune-up before conference play on their way to the win over the Pacers (2-5).
