In the opening frame of the victory, Scranton quickly opened a 1-0 lead on Marywood after Windisch finished off a free position attempt on net in the first three minutes of regulation.

The Pacers quickly answered the goal to tie the match up at 1-1, but Scranton struck back, scoring back-to-back goals to go up 3-1 with 20 minutes left in the first frame.

After Marywood sliced the Scranton lead down to 3-2 with a goal, the Royals scored back-to-back goals again to go back up 5-2. Windisch and Kerr scored both goals, as Olert recorded assists on both scores.

The Pacers, however, struck back again, scoring two goals in row to cut the Scranton lead down to 5-4 with 9:47 left in the first half.

But, Scranton ended the period strong, scoring the final two goals of the frame to take a 7-4 edge into halftime. Kerr (off an Angelo assist) and Olert (unassisted) scored the last two goals of the frame for the Royals to put them up by three at the break.

In the second half, Scranton pulled away in the middle portion of play, eventually opening a 14-6 lead late in the contest that Marywood could not come back from.

Scoring goals in the second frame for Scranton were sophomore Elena Gallo (East Meadow, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) (off a Rogers assist), freshman Erin Ahern (Eastchester, N.Y./Eastchester) (off a Kerr assist), Windisch (twice, both of which were unassisted), Rogers, Kerr (off an assist from freshman Shannon Warburton (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh)) and Angelo.
