It was a big week for senior attacker Meghan Kerr (Warwick, N.Y./John S. Burke Catholic) of the University of Scranton women's lacrosse team, and for her efforts in a pair of matches, she was named the Landmark Conference's Athlete of the Week for women's lacrosse on Monday afternoon.
For Kerr, this marks the second time in her career that she has earned Athlete of the Week honors from the Landmark Conference, as she collected the award last season on Feb. 29, 2016.
This week, Kerr scored four goals, apiece, in matches at Guilford (a 15-6 win) on Tuesday and Meredith (a 13-11 loss on Friday). She also recorded six assists on the week, as well.
For the year, Kerr continues to be the leader of the Scranton offense, scoring a team-high 18 goals, along with nine assists for a 27 point total. In the Landmark Conference, Kerr is tied for the conference lead in both goals scored and total points entering this week.
Kerr and the rest of the University of Scranton women's lacrosse team returns to action on Wednesday, hosting Marywood at Fitzpatrick Field. Action gets underway at 4 p.m.
