Four members of The University of Scranton women’s
lacrosse team were named all-Landmark Conference in a ballot
conducted among the conference’s head coaches, Kirbie Britt,
associate commissioner, announced today.
The Royals had two representatives on each of the two teams.
First-team honors went to junior goalkeeper Emily Towey (Abington, Pa./Abington) and freshman defender Meaghan Ginty (Mineola, NY/Sacred Heart Academy) while junior attacker Emily Goss (Morristown, NJ/Morristown) and sophomore midfielder Erin Allen (Syosset, NY/Our Lady of Mercy Academy) landed spots on the second team. Goss is honored for the second straight season after earning a berth on the first team a year ago.

Towey is currently third in the Landmark Conference in saves (168) and save percentage (.449) and fifth in goals against average (12.25). Ginty is now second on the team in draw controls (32) and ground balls (26).
Goss tops the team in goals (40) and is second in total points (41), bringing her career totals to 135 and 144, respectively. She is now sixth in goals scored and 11th in scoring in Royals’ history.
Allen started all 16 games and is tied for second on the team in assists (10) and fifth in goals (13) and total points (23).
The Royals finished the 2014 season with a 6-10 overall record and qualified for the Landmark Conference tournament under second-year head coach Cindy Wilson.
