The University of Scranton men's swimming & diving team posted its first victory of the young season on Friday evening the Bryon Center, defeating visiting King's, 112-93.

Junior Timothy Quigley (Hatboro, Pa./Archbishop Wood) and sophomore Matt Mills (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township) won two individual events apiece to lead the Royals, who leveled their record at 1-1 on the year.

The loss dropped the Monarchs to 2-2 on the season.

Quigley won the 100 butterfly with a time of 53.73 before touching first in the 100 breaststroke with a mark of 1:00.72.

Mills won the 200 freestyle, finishing in 1:51.45 before taking first in the 100 freestyle, clocking in at 49.42.

Senior Michael Ramsthaler (Florham Park, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) also added a first place finish in the 100 backstroke for Scranton with a time of 54.94.

Quigley, Ramsthaler, senior Chris Whalen (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip), and sophomore Jack Donnelly (Washington Crossing, Pa./Council Rock North) teamed up to win the 400 medley relay to open the meet for the Royals, posting a mark of 3:39.43.

Donnelly also had a pair of runner-up finishes on the evening, taking second in both the 50 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke.

Whalen placed second in the 100 butterfly while sophomore John Fimmano (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) was the runner-up in the 200 IM.

Fimmano, Whalen, Ramsthaler, and senior Brayan Winiarz (Long Pond, Pa./Evergreen Community) closed the evening with a runner-up finish in the 200 freestyle relay.

Scranton is back in the pool on Saturday with a tri-meet at Juniata that also includes Goucher.  Tomorrow's action is set to start at 1 p.m. in Huntingdon, Pa.
