For the fourth time in his career, sophomore Alec Mikrut (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery), a sophomore attacker on The University of Scranton men’s lacrosse team, has been named the Landmark Conference Player of the Week.
Mikrut scored a game-high three goals, including two in the second half, in last Saturday’s 8-7 victory over Goucher College in Towson, Maryland, a win that locked up the number two seed for the Royals in the upcoming Landmark Conference tournament.
Mikrut, who was previously honored on April 8, 2013, and April 7 and April 14 earlier this year, currently leads Scranton in goals scored with 28 and is second on the team in assists with 10 and total points with 38.
In the latest Landmark Conference statistical rankings, he is fourth in goals, sixth in total points, and 20th in assists.
The Royals, now 10-6 under second-year head coach Doug Sage, will host Goucher (6-7) this Wednesday, April 30, at 7:00 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Field in Scranton.
All faculty, staff, and students from any Landmark Conference institution will be admitted free with a valid ID. Tickets for the general public are $5.00 for adults (18-61) and $3.00 for non-Landmark Conference students and children (ages 8-17) and senior citizens (ages 62 and older). All children, seven and under, accompanied by an adult will be admitted free.
