Mikrut Repeats As Landmark Conference Player of the Week

Alec Mikrut (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery), a junior attacker on The University of Scranton men’s lacrosse team, has repeated as Landmark Conference Player of the Week, Kirbie Britt, associate commissioner, announced today.

Mikrut is honored for the second straight week fter putting up some impressive statistics in two games during the period ending Sunday, April 13.

In last Wednesday’s 13-7 loss to Franklin & Marshall College at Fitzpatrick Field, Mikrut scored a game and career-high five goals, including two in the fourth period to slice a five-goal lead down to three.  He came back on Saturday, April 12, to score two goals and assist on another as Scranton remained undefeated in Landmark Conference play with an 11-4 victory over the Merchant Marine Academy.

For the season, Mikrut leads the Royals in goals (25) and is second in assists (10) and total points (35).

The Royals, now 9-5 overall and 4-0 in the Landmark, will take on conference rival Susquehanna University this Thursday, April 17, in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
